It's not me; it's God.

For the full context of this post read Genesis 41:1-40.

“I cannot do it,” Joseph replied to Pharaoh, “but God will give Pharaoh the answer he desires” (Genesis 41:16).

Pharaoh had a dream which no one could interpret so summoned Joseph to interpret it. Pharaoh told Joseph, “I have heard it said of you that when you hear a dream you can interpret it.” Joseph was quick to answer Pharaoh. His response was “I cannot do it, but God…” Joseph knew who had given him the ability to interpret dreams. He also knew that it was God who interpreted dreams through him.

Do you have abilities that you cannot accomplish on your own, but when God is working through you, you are able to complete the tasks? If so, you understand Joseph’s response to Pharaoh. “It’s not me; it’s God.”

Joseph didn’t always fit in. He was unique and misunderstood. Joseph was special, a dreamer and an interpreter of dreams. He didn’t know why God gave him the ability to interpret dreams, but he used his gifts for God and gave God the credit for them.

Has God given you talents which you aren’t sure why he did? Use you the gifts God has given you and give him credit anyway. Don’t be afraid to use the talents God has given you. Step out in faith and use them for God’s good. Allow yourself to dream. Dream bigger than what you can accomplish. Dream God sized dreams. Then pray, “God, I can’t, but you can.” Allow God to work through you and when he does, be sure to give God the credit by saying, “I can’t, but God can.”

I love...dream God sized dreams and allow Him to work through you.
