Are you prepared for the test?

For the full context of this post read 2 Chronicles 20: 1-30.

Can you think back far enough to remember your school days? Do you remember having to take tests? I don’t know many people who can honestly say that they enjoyed taking tests. I know for certain I didn’t enjoy them. It’s okay to admit if you didn’t like to take tests, because tests are not intended for your enjoyment, Tests are intended for evaluatory purposes. Tests measure your recall of information, your understanding of information, and how well you are able to transfer that knowledge into solving complex problems. Tests are not intended to be fun.

Life is full of tests! Just like in a school setting, life’s tests are not intended for your enjoyment. Life’s tests are intended to measure your recall of information, your understanding of information, and how well you are able to transfer that knowledge into solving complex problems of life. The Bible is a great study guide designed to give you all of the answers needed for the tests of life. In order to perform well on the tests of life, we’ve got to be able to recall the information in the study guide.

Is there a particular verse that is your go to verse in times of testing? Is there a verse that defines your life? Some refer to this as a “life verse”. There is no doctrinal basis for a life verse, but it’s always nice to have a verse or two that you know will help you to succeed in any test. This week I encourage you to select a passage of Scripture to memorize and meditate on. Choose a verse that you know will help you during times of testing. If you need help selecting a verse to memorize, I have included my life verse as one which has always helped me to navigate the tests of life.

17 You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.’” (2 Chronicles 20:17)

One of my favorite Bible chapters filled with so much truth and certainly a great life verse.
